The English-Russian kindergarten "Ot A to Ya" is one of the best private kindergartens in St. Petersburg. Our kindergarten is distinguished by a high level of education and upbringing of children, serious systematic preparation for school in all general subjects. A special approach to the educational process was developed in collaboration with leading specialists of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen and the representative office of the University of Cambridge in St. Petersburg. This approach is implemented in two educational programs - in Russian and English. Such a system of teaching preschoolers gives the most successful result in mastering basic subjects, and allows our graduates to continue their studies in leading schools both in Russia and abroad.
Our teachers support a bilingual (bilingual) educational environment. Teachers regularly attend the courses, trainings and conferences, further applying modern technologies and teaching methods in their work.
The students in our kindergarten are divided by age. There are 3 main branches: Little kids, Big Kids and Preschool Kids. Each brunch has its one educational program, according to the age of children: Little kids is for 2 -4 years old kids, Big Kids - for 4-5 years old children, Preschool kids - for 5-7 years old students . Language Center includes the courses of English and is popular among the students, who graduate from our kindergarten or everyone who wants to improve the level of language proficiency.
Since 2017, we have been the official Cambridge exam preparation centre. Our students have the opportunity to pass the Young Learners International exam and confirm their level of language proficiency. Young Learners Exam is the first step in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which is used to describe the level of a language. Exam results are accepted throughout the world for admission to educational institutions.
Our mission is to bring up care and support in kids. Last years our kindergarten has been taking part in different charity events. By the support of AdVita Foundation, we organized a great charity concert “Just for kids”. The funds were directed to help children with cancer and hematological diseases. In addition, the kindergarten usually organizes an annual action to collect toys for sick children.
